Why Stovish

What Sets Our Approach Apart

Reading-First Method

Every session begins with a prepared reading — public scheme documents, dialogue frameworks, or household money texts. Discussion follows from the material, keeping the conversation grounded.

Small Cohorts Only

Groups of twelve or fewer. That number is not incidental — it allows for considered exchange without the noise of a larger room. Each participant's reading pace is respected.

Strictly Educational

No advice is offered. No products are recommended. The programmes are educational in scope — we help participants read and discuss, not decide. That boundary matters to us.

Singapore Context

All reading materials draw from Singapore's own scheme documentation and household data. Participants read about their own financial landscape, not a borrowed one from another jurisdiction.

Unhurried Pace

Programmes run over weeks and months, not compressed weekends. The Mid-Life Reading Circle spans four months by design — some things need time to settle.

Printed Materials

Every programme includes a printed binder, journal, or card set. Reading from paper is intentional — it slows the eye and keeps the attention where discussion needs it.

Which Programme Fits Where You Are Now?

We run three distinct reading formats throughout the year. Whether you want a four-week introduction to CPF documentation or a four-month household money reading circle, there is a pace that suits your schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a reading programme and a workshop?

Our reading programmes run across several weeks or months, with material sent in advance of each session. Workshops are condensed into a weekend and focus on practical conversation exercises. Both are educational — no financial advice is offered in either format.

Do I need any prior knowledge of CPF or finance to join?

No. The Pension Reading Programme in particular is designed for participants who are approaching CPF documentation for the first time. Each session includes a glossary, and the pace of discussion accommodates different starting points.

Where are sessions held?

Sessions are held at our reading room at Marina Bay Financial Centre, Tower 3. The space is quiet and purpose-set for small-group reading discussion. Address: 12 Marina Boulevard, #18-01, Singapore 018982.

How large is each cohort?

We keep cohorts to a maximum of twelve participants. This limit is a programme requirement, not a preference — the discussion format does not work well in larger groups. Places are allocated in the order enquiries are received.

Is this financial advice?

No. Stovish is an educational reading organisation. Our programmes help participants read and understand publicly available financial documentation and develop household money vocabulary. We do not offer regulated financial advice or product recommendations of any kind.

What is included in the programme fee?

Each programme includes all printed materials — reference binders, glossary cards, journal, or conversation guide, depending on the programme. Session facilitation and the cohort newsletter (where applicable) are also included. There are no additional material costs.

Can I join more than one programme?

Yes. A number of participants have attended both the Pension Reading Programme and the Mid-Life Planning Reading Circle in the same year. The programmes are independent of one another and cover different material. We do ask that you contact us first if you are considering the Family Finance Workshop alongside another programme, so we can discuss scheduling.
